# How to Submit your First Vulnerability Report

### Step 1 — Launch the FortiChain App

First things first, head over to the landing page and click on “**Launch App.**”

Next, choose your role as **Security Researcher**.&#x20;

If you want to skip the extra clicks, there’s a shortcut: just scroll down to the bottom of the landing page and hit “**Launch App**” under Security Researcher.&#x20;

The moment you make your choice, FortiChain will take you straight to the **Welcome Page** of your dashboard.&#x20;

### Step 2 — Access the Security Researcher Dashboard

When you land on the Welcome Page, FortiChain will first prompt you to connect your wallet.

Click “**Connect Wallet**” to link your rewards to your on-chain identity and ensure secure payouts. Then pick your preferred option:&#x20;

Next, choose a **preferred username** to build your researcher identity on the platform.  This makes your profile recognizable to Project Owners and Validators.

Once both are successfully done, you can now click Proceed to Dashboard to fully unlock your workspace.&#x20;

### Step 3 — Explore Available Projects

Now that your dashboard is unlocked, your first stop is the **Projects Tab**. This page gives you a quick snapshot of live audits you can participate in.&#x20;

Here’s how to get started:

1. Browse through listed projects.
2. Use filters to view by status:

* Available → Open projects you can work on now.
* Completed → Past audits for reference.

### Step 4 — Submit Your First Report

Once you find a project that interests you, click to open its **Project Page**. There, you’ll see its:

* Deadline
* Bounty amount
* Project summary
* GitHub repo link
* Contract address<br>

Review these resources carefully to fully understand the project before writing your report.

Next:

* Click **Start** (Write Report)  to open the vulnerability report template.
* Fill out your findings clearly and double check them for accuracy
* If satisfied, hit **Submit Report**.<br>

Your submission will automatically appear in your dashboard under **My Reports.**

### Step 5 — Edit Reports (Optional)

Sometimes, after submitting a report, you may notice areas to improve, refine, or add new discoveries. To update your work just:

* Go to **My Reports**.

* Click **Edit Report**.<br>

That’s it! you’ve completed your first cycle as a Security Researcher. From here, Validators step in to audit your submission, and once approved, your bounty will be released from escrow.
