# How to Apply as a Validator

#### Step 1 — Launch the FortiChain App

First things first, head over to the landing page and click **Launch App**.

Next, choose your role as **Validator.**

Alternatively, scroll down to the bottom of the landing page and hit **Launch App** under Validator.

The moment you do, FortiChain will redirect you into your **Welcome Page.**

#### Step 2 — Complete KYC

Before you can start validating, you’ll need to verify your identity and skills. This makes sure everyone in the system is credible.

To complete KYC:

1. Connect your wallet by selecting your preferred option:

* [Braavos](https://braavos.app/)
* [Ready](https://app.gitbook.com/u/YYd9oVSwMFR2SLZMeHHvUFStB2h1) (formerly Argent)
* [MetaMask](https://metamask.io/en-GB)
* [Kepir](https://app.gitbook.com/u/YYd9oVSwMFR2SLZMeHHvUFStB2h1)
* OKX Wallet

2. Enter your **preferred username** for your validator profile.&#x20;

3. Link your GitHub account.
4. Upload up to 5 samples of your past work. This could be audits, reviews, or contributions.
